Salon Zürcher, 8th Edition

Due to the success of the first 7 editions of our mini-art-fair, Zürcher Paris / New York is launching our 8th edition of SALON ZÜRCHER at our Paris location, Galerie Zürcher, located in the heart of the city’s Le Marais district, near the Centre Pompidou. As our New York Salon coincided with Armory Week, our Paris Salon will coincide with FIAC (October 23-26, 2014), the French equivalent to the Armory, which takes place at the Grand Palais. Due to our growing popularity, Salon Zürcher is now considered one of the official satellite fairs to FIAC.

In response to the positive attention we have received from past Salons, this year for the very first time Salon Zürcher will expand its exhibition space by including our neighboring Gallery, Galerie ALB, at 47 rue Chapon (adjacent to Galerie Zürcher).

For this year’s 8th edition we will showcase seven galleries from the United States, and one from Canada. Along with these exciting new additions, the Salon will function much as it has in the past : as an accessible and impressive, small but representative art fair.

Créé à l’origine par Gwenolée & Bernard Zürcher à la Galerie Zürcher de New York, le Salon Zürcher Paris-NY est un concept de mini-foire alternative, low cost. Tandis que la première édition à NY en mars 2011 pendant l’Armory Show était qualifiée par le New York Times de « spirited selection », la seconde édition à Paris en octobre 2011 pendant la FIAC était désignée comme un « mini art salon » par le Financial Times. La troisième édition à New York en mars 2012 se rapprochait davantage de l’esprit du “salon d’art” en référence aux fameux « Salons » de Diderot. Ce modèle s’est imposé pour les éditions suivantes dont le succès (environ 1400 visiteurs en 5 jours) a permis d’intégrer le OFF de la FIAC à Paris et de l’Armory Show à New York. Pour sa huitième édition, le Salon Zürcher confirme la conception d’une foire intime et sélective en invitant du 20 au 26 octobre (vernissage le lundi 20 octobre) 7 jeunes galeries américaines et 1 galerie canadienne connues pour leur activité centrée sur la découverte de nouveaux talents. Pour la première fois le Salon Zürcher s’étend grâce à la collaboration de la Galerie ALB, au 47 de la rue Chapon, qui accueillera deux galeries participantes.
