Maria Faust/Kresten Osgood

Two of Europe’s leading voices in contemporary jazz team up as a duo. Celebrated Estonian composer/saxophonist, Maria Faust, and Danish drum wizard extraordinaire, Kresten Osgood, are both seasoned improvisers. Although they come from very different backgrounds, they actually have a lot in common too. Over the years they have developed a musical rapport that nears telepathy. They finish each other’s thoughts, take turns instigating new material and both improvise with a deep structural sensitivity that makes the cliché of describing free improvisation as “instant composition” seem valid. The two have also been working in each others projects. Osgood subbing in Faust’s “Jazz Catastrophy” and Faust a regular member of Osgood´s large group “The Urias Ensemble.” The Duo has been working together for a few years now andhave performed across Europe, and will perform in the USA later this year and tour Japan in 2027.
