Louie Belogenis will perform a solo verison of Meditations, a suite composed by John Coltrane, on tenor saxophone at Zurcher Gallery on Thursday, June 27th, 2019, at 8:00 pm.
”I learned this music in the 1990s while a member of Rashied Ali’s band Prima Materia. We performed it extensively on several European tours, and made a recording in 1995. Rashied Ali was introduced to this music by John Coltrane himself, when he was one of the drummers in Coltrane’s band.”
